چکیده

Arsenic contamination in the rice agro-ecosystem, its consequent spread into food chain, and adverse impact are a global concern. However, assessment of arsenic on qualitative aspect post-harvest phase has not been attempted. We laid down this particular experiment with aim to assess how influences grain quality attributes other elemental profiles four popular varieties. The entire field study was conducted lower Indo-Gangetic plain from genotype (four) environment (14 locations) interaction point view, using additive main effects multiplicative model. Our findings indicate that content can influence low highly significant manner. Amylose ( r = 0.753), cooking time 0.706), gruel solid loss 0.672, 0.721) were found be positively correlated high-yielding Noteworthy variations micronutrient like iron (6.63–9.23 mg kg −1 ), zinc (3.15–5.54 copper (2.04–3.86 ) as well soil properties also visible. Moreover, indigenous varieties respond differently than Besides these, pronounced gene/variety seen. clearly is prone As contamination. These outcomes will attract attention policy-makers researchers develop have desirable appropriate for arsenic-contaminated regions world sustainable production.

Genotype × environment assessment for grain quality traits in rice

Physicochemical properties of 10 rice advanced breeding lines (BC2F7) across 3 environments in Malaysia were evaluated. Highly significant G × E interactions for all measured quality traits were detected using ANOVA, and the additive main effect and multiplicative interaction (AMMI) statistical model was applied to analyze them. The results showed that the grain quality parameters had large gen...

Physico-chemical attributes and correlation among grain quality traits of some exotic aromatic rice lines

Forty three rice genotypes were used to evaluate their aroma detection through sensory test. Aroma was detected by 1.7% KOH as a sensory test. Thirteen rice genotypes were detected having strong aroma; ten had moderate aroma; fifteen had slight aroma and five had no aroma. In case of grain shape study, 37 genotypes were evaluated as slender and six as medium. In this study, grain aroma had sign...

Genotype and environment effects on feed grain quality

The extent of genotype and location effects on chemical composition and nutritive value of grains fed to animals was surveyed. The review covered the winter cereals (wheat, barley, oats, and triticale), the summer cereals (sorghum and maize), and the pulses (field pea, lupins, faba beans, and chickpea) when fed to cattle, sheep, poultry, pigs, rats, and mice. The bulk of the literature does not...

The Journey of Arsenic from Soil to Grain in Rice

Arsenic (As) is a non-essential toxic metalloid whose elevated concentration in rice grains is a serious issue both for rice yield and quality, and for human health. The rice-As interactions, hence, have been studied extensively in past few decades. A deep understanding of factors influencing As uptake and transport from soil to grains can be helpful to tackle this issue so as to minimize grain...

Nutritional quality in rice grain and their relations to grain morphological traits

Cereal grains are considered by consumers due to effect on health because of their antioxidant capacity, phenolic content and other phytochemicals. For this purpose, an experiment was conducted to evaluate of morphological and nutritional traits on 10 rice genotypes. Analysis of variance showed a significant different among the genotypes for all traits. Onda, Gharib, Fajr and L2 genotypes had t...
